Tammy Franks Greens MLC will today reintroduce legislation to ensure that South Australia's CFS volunteer fire-fighters are subject to the same schedule to qualify for presumptive treatment under WorkCover as their MFS colleagues should a volunteer firefighter contract a cancer as outlined in the schedule.*
The Bill is expected to be one of the first tests of the Weatherill Minority Government as it has previously received support of all non-Labor members of the previous Parliament.
The Bill is also the same as the one which was previously cosponsored with Ms Franks by Independent MP Geoff Brock. The Liberal party committed to funding the initiative in the recent election had they won Government. It is expected their support remains.
Minister Brock's vote in the Lower House this time is likely to decide the fate of the Bill.
