Who is coming to dinner Treasurer - call for Hockey to release names

Greens democracy spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon has responded to reports that the Treasurer is pushing ahead with a series of exclusive high powered fund raising events for his election fund raising body the North Sydney Forum.

"Mr Hockey should release the list of attendees to reduce the perception of donation deals done behind closed doors," Senator Rhiannon said.
"It is extraordinary that the Treasurer is persisting with a fundraiser built around the federal budget in light of the expanding ICAC investigation about political donations linked to government decisions.

"As the federal Liberal Party is being drawn into the murky donation deals now linked with the NSW Liberals, Mr Hockey is risking the standing of his government by holding this event.

"Mr Hockey cannot move seamlessly from the position of Treasurer to the MP for North Sydney using the budget to raise money for his election campaign funds," Senator Rhiannon said.
