WHAT: Victorian Greens Health Spokesperson Colleen Hartland will be
introducing legislation in parliament tomorrow that will ban smoking in
outdoor dining areas and other crowded outdoor spaces in Victoria.
WHO: Victorian Greens Health Spokesperson Colleen Hartland.
WHEN: Press Conference Tuesday 11 15am, 27th November. Bill to be
introduced Wednesday 28th.
WHERE: Steps of Parliament House, Spring Street.
“Victoria is the only state that has not already introduced or announced
an intention to introduce smoke-free outdoor dining and drinking areas.
Baillieu’s impotence on this serious public health issue puts us at risk
of becoming the cancer state” said Ms Hartland.
“According to the Cancer Council, 70% of Victorians are in favour of a ban
on smoking in outdoor drinking and dining areas. The Baillieu Government
is clearly out of step with the community as well as other State
Governments on this issue” she said.
