Bob Brown delighted with Greens strong showing in QLD

Greens Leader Bob Brown says he is delighted with the Queensland Greens
strong showing in yesterday's election.

"A huge number of Queenslanders don't want the Mary River dam. And
there's a growing alarm in Queensland, and right across Australia, about
global heating but Peter Beattie has gone for dams and coal," Senator
Brown said.

Bob Brown is today visiting the water depleted Macquarie Marshes north
of Dubbo in central west NSW.

"The destruction of these marshes is a national disgrace. Labor and the
Coalition parties are failing the environment at state and federal
level."

"Yesterday's results in Queensland may well be the start of a voter
revolt," Senator Brown said.
