Rescue the Senate:
Greens launch campaign

"Environment, global warming, uranium will be top issues"

The four Australian Greens Senators have laucnhed their 2007 election
campaign to 'Rescue the Senate'.

"We are campaigning now. An early election is likely - as early as 4
August 2007, just one year from today," Greens Leader Bob Brown said
today.

"The Australian electorate had no idea that the government would grab
control of the Senate in 2004. Even many Howard voters will back the
Greens in the Senate in 2007. It's common sense," Senator Brown said.

"We predict the environment, uranium and global warming will be top
election issues where the Greens are the answer and Howard is the
problem."

"We'll campaign strongly on these issues," Senator Brown said.
