How much to do it properly? 

Greens MLA Kerrie Tucker today called on Planning, Education and Community
Services Minister Simon Corbell to stop the Bunda Street development and
renegotiate the size and status of community facilities.

"ACT Shelter, the peak housing body in the ACT, looks likely to be homeless
when the Griffin Centre is replaced!" said Ms Tucker.

"What does that say about the ACT Government's strategic planning for
community services, or the value it puts on the community sector?" 

"I am calling on Mr Corbell to do a benefit/cost analysis of stopping the
development now and renegotiating a vision which takes into account medium
to long time needs, versus sticking to the existing, poorly thought out,
short term approach."

"If the new Griffin Centre isn't even going to accommodate groups such as
Shelter and the Youth Coalition of the ACT, who are already on site, how on
earth will it serve Canberra's community into the future?" Ms Tucker asked
