End the V8 car waste!


Greens MLA Kerrie Tucker is calling for the ACT Government to ensure that
this year's V8 supercar race around the Parliamentary Triangle is the last
one.

"I will introduce a motion in the Assembly calling on the Government to end
the race. It costs the ACT Government millions of dollars each year and
creates havoc around the tourist heart of Canberra on the very popular long
week end" Ms Tucker said today.

"We all know it was the Carnell Liberal Government that committed the
millions of dollars that would be better spent meeting community need.  Now
it is up to the Labor Government to get us out of this situation."
