Federal and NSW Greens MPs to Call for Cancellation of WestConnex and Full Diversion of Commonwealth and State Money into Public Transport (15/12)
Australian Greens Transport & Infrastructure Spokesperson, Senator Janet Rice, Greens NSW MP and Spokesperson for Roads and Transport, Dr Mehreen Faruqi MLC,  and Greens MP Jamie Parker, member for Balmain, will hold a media conference on Monday (15/12) morning at 10:15am at Sydney Park (corner of Euston Road and Campbell Road, Alexandria, calling for the cancellation of WestConnex. They will be joined by local residents, members of the WestConnex Community Action Groups and local government councillors.
They will then doorknock and talk with residents in the area who will be affected.
In light of recent announcements of compulsory property acquisitions and devastation the WestConnex toll road will have on the Sydney and particularly the Inner West, including Sydney Park, Senator Rice and Dr Faruqi will be calling on WestConnex to be scrapped and the money to be directed towards improving and expanding Sydney's public transport system.
