Victorian Greens leader Greg Barber says the secrecy around the East West
Toll Road proposal is absurd and he will fight the latest Freedom of
Information refusal.

"The Transport Minister is boasting about how many meeting he's had and
what great feedback he's getting*, so I requested the details and suddenly
the tunnel meetings are a big secret," said Greg Barber MLC

"They won't tell me who they've met with or what information they handed
out."

"If you work for a finance company or you own a bulldozer, you can have a
one-on-one meeting with the Minister and he'll spill the beans. But if you
are a member of the public or an MP representing the local area, forget
about it."

"This is about the umpteenth refusal under Freedom of Information laws
I've had for the East West Toll Road. You'd think I was asking for missile
plans, not official briefings. I'll refer it to the Freedom of Information
Commissioner," said Mr Barber
