Greens move to protect Busselton foreshore

Greens MLC, Giz Watson, moved in Parliament yesterday to preserve the existing 'A' Class protection of Busselton foreshore land.

"Current 'A' Class reserves, set aside for the purposes of "Camping and Recreation and "Tennis Courts", should be preserved to ensure ongoing community access and use of this foreshore land," she said.

"Once an 'A' Class reserve is lost it is lost for ever - in this case to become a commercial zone for private developers," she said.

"The Busselton foreshore is an invaluable community asset that should not be carved up for privately-owned, short stay accommodation," she concluded.
