Greens: ABCC report & Caring for Our Country

The Australian Greens will comment on the future of the Australian
Building and Construction Commission, following the release of the
Senate Inquiry report into the Greens' Building and Construction
Industry (Restoring Workplace Rights) Bill.

"The ABCC represents the Howard Government's Work Choices agenda at its
most extreme, and yet the Rudd Government has dragged its heels in
addressing these injustices."
Senator Siewert will also comment on today's release of the long-awaited
business plan for Caring for Our Country, and what it fails to deliver
for Natural Resource Management in Australia.

"What we needed was a step up to build on the achievements of the
Natural Heritage Trust and Landcare. What we have got instead is a
significant step backwards - and a 'business plan' which is little more
that a series of vague inspirational statements and press releases,"
said Senator Siewert.
