The Tasmanian Greens said that their hearts go out to the Cadbury
Electrical workers who walked off the job at the Hobart factory for the
last time today.
"It is hard to find the words to express our deep sadness for these
Cadbury workers after so many years of loyal service to the company,"
said Greens Member for Denison, Cassy O'Connor MP.
"These 19 workers have helped Cadburys to establish the international
reputation that the company now enjoys, which is a huge achievement."
"It is very difficult to understand how Cadbury's 'rewards' these
workers by making them redundant and then providing the jobs to
Victoria."
"The Tasmanian Greens feel deeply for these workers and their families
during this difficult time, and we hope that they will soon be back in
the workforce where they are valued, and able to continue to make a
positive contribution to the Tasmanian economy," Ms O'Connor said
