Greens call for APEC poverty action

Greens Leader Bob Brown says poverty is violence and APEC should have a
poverty round-table to match its business round-table.

"Just 6% of the one trillion dollars being spent on armaments around the
world this year will be enough to give the millions of children violated
by poverty a school, clean water and a healthy diet," Senator Brown
said.

"This is a commitment APEC leaders, including our Prime Minister, could
and should make," Senator Brown said.
