US Consul General to debate Greens Senator Kerry Nettle on the Iraq war


What: 	US Consul General, Steven T. Smith has accepted an invitation to
debate Greens Senator Kerry Nettle about US Foreign Policy, with a focus
on 		the situation in Iraq.
Where:	Marrickville Town Hall 303 Marrickville Road Sydney.
When: 	7.30PM Tuesday 5th June 2007 
 

In a surprising move the US Consul General to Sydney, Steven T. Smith
has accepted an invitation to debate US Foreign Policy in the middle
east with major critics of the Iraq war including Greens Senator Kerry
Nettle. 

According to the US Consul - General website,  CG Smith  has recently
been posted to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, Iraq.

Senator Nettle continues to be a leading opponent of the US led and
Australian Government supported invasion and occupation of Iraq. 

Alison Broinowski, author of the recent book "Allied & Addicted" that
describes Australia's foreign policy stance will also be participating
in the debate.
