Four Greens MPs at major Save Anvil Hill coal mine protest

What: Federal Greens Senator Kerry Nettle and NSW Greens MPs Lee
Rhiannon, Sylvia Hale and John Kaye will attend a Save Anvil Hill
weekend protest in the Upper Hunter Valley. 
Why: Protest to stop the NSW government approving the Anvil Hill coal
mine.
Where: At the proposed Anvil Hill site, near Denman.
When: Saturday and Sunday 2-3 June 2007.
Photo op:  At midday on Sunday a giant blue human sign will be formed
to read 'Save Anvil Hill'.

Hundreds of people are expected to converge in a peaceful protest
against this massive new coal mine getting the go ahead.

Greens MP and mining spokesperson Lee Rhiannon said:

"If Planning Minister Frank Sartor approves the Anvil Hill coal mine he
will expose the Iemma government's deceit in expressing concern about
climate change.

"This peaceful rally is designed to put pressure on Iemma government to
change direction by phasing out, not ramping up, the coal industry in
NSW.
