Greens welcome moves to save Morialta Land
Greens MLC Mark Parnell has welcomed the intervention by the State
Government into the sale of land adjacent to the Morialta Conservation
Park.
"Land is only as valuable as what you are allowed to do with it. The
Government should make it crystal clear that building houses on this
land is simply not acceptable. Once you take the land speculators and
property developers out of the picture, you just watch the price
tumble," Mark Parnell said.
It has been reported that a notice has been issued to the land owner
today, halting any sale while the Government seeks an independent
valuation.
"There are a whole range of things Minister Gago can do to ensure that
South Australian families continue to enjoy full access to the Morialta
Conservation Park.
"The Greens welcome her intervention, and look forward to this land
being preserved for future generations," he said.
