Styx Valley defenders will be backed - Brown

The forest defenders who have impeded further destruction in the Styx
River Valley of the Giants deserve the broad public backing they will
get, Greens Leader Bob Brown said today.

"Logging this valley and its World Heritage-value forests is an
environmental crime: a serious wrongdoing against Tasmania's future
wellbeing," Senator Brown said.

History will judge the tree killers, not the environmentalists, very
harshly," Senator Brown said.
