Australian Greens Senator Kerry Nettle is relieved recently freed BBC
journalist Alan Johnston has been released by kidnappers in Gaza after
nearly four months in captivity. 

"I am very pleased that Alan Johnston has been released, it shows that
non-violent solutions are effective.

"I hope Mr Johnston's release is a sign of a more peaceful approach by
all sides in the middle east. 

"I wish Mr Johnston and his family a long recuperation." Senator Nettle
said.
