ORGAN'S INDUSTRIAL MANSLAUGHTER EXHIBITION MOVES TO STATE PARLIAMENT
An exhibition of photographs graphically illustrating the consequences
of industrial accidents organised by Federal member for Cunningham
Michael Organ will be opened in the NSW State parliament tomorrow, 20
May 2004.
"I am pleased that this landmark exhibition will receive wider exposure
with its launch in the Jubilee Room at State Parliament tomorrow
afternoon", Mr. Organ said.
"I will be joining Greens MLC Lee Rhiannon and State CFMEU secretary
Andrew Ferguson for the launch which will be addressed by Sue Exner, the
mother of Joel Exner who was tragically killed on a western Sydney
building site last year, and former waterside worker Garry Corbett from
my Federal electorate of Cunningham, who suffered horrific injuries in a
ship loading accident at Port Kembla in 2001."
"The exhibition, which was put together in support of my Industrial
Manslaughter Private Member's Bill, has already been seen by hundreds of
people in Wollongong, and is a moving testimony to the perils faced
daily by workers across the country", Mr. Organ said.
When: 1:30pm Wednesday 20 May 2004
Where: Jubilee Room, State Parliament, Macquarie Street Sydney
All participants will be available for comment at the opening.
