Greens welcome wage decision

Senator Kerry Nettle welcomed the decision of the Australian Industrial
Relations Commission to award low paid workers a wage rise of $19 while
noting it fell short of what was needed.

"Workers are struggling, they need and deserve a rise in the minimum
wage so this rise is welcome, despite falling short of what is needed,"
Senator Nettle said.

"Employers who are criticising the decision should look at soaring
profits and directors taking home record remuneration packages.

"This rise is long overdue."
