Workers Comp Laws make it Harder to ReturnToWork ?

Greens industrial relations spokesperson, Tammy Franks MLC and Xenophon Team's, John Darley MLC have called for an inquiry into the current workers compensation laws, sending a clear message to the Labor Government that although the scheme has been in place since July 2015, seriously injured workers are being disadvantaged as they get kicked off the scheme.

WHAT: Greens & Xenophon Team call for Workers Compensation Inquiry
WHEN: Today (Wednesday) 25th of May 2016
TIME: 1.00pm
WHERE: Parliament House, Courtyard
WHO: Greens Industrial Relations Spokesperson Tammy Franks MLC.
Xenophon Team Spokesperson John Darley MLC.

"The Protect our Cops campaign has concluded with a victory. It's time to ensure that other workers, including ambulance officers, nurses and many other public sector workers, are extended the same protection." Tammy Franks MLC said.

"I've been told of ambulance officers who have been subjected to violence and suffered serious injuries, like severe spinal injuries, as a result of their work and nurses who have been spat on, exposed to bodily fluids and sexually assaulted at work and yet their injuries are insignificant under the current laws."

John Darley MLC said: "We warned the Government against making these changes during the time of the debate and now we are seeing the impact they are having on injured workers and their families."
