[Greens-Media] Media Alert: Ellis Defence repeal begins

Greens NSW MP David Shoebridge will tomorrow Second Read his bill to repeal the Ellis Defence from NSW law.

The bill has been developed over the past 2 years in consultation with victims and legal experts from across the State.

The Ellis defence continues to be used by the Roman Catholic Church to avoid having to pay compensation to victims of sexual abuse by priests who sue the Church.

When: Thursday 27 March 2014, after the Second Reading speech (sometime between 9.30 and 10.30am)
