Gina Rinehart: Australia’s welfare queen

Greens Deputy Leader and Finance spokesperson, Adam Bandt MP, today said that Tony Abbott should act to end crony capitalism before coming after low-income Australians.  

“If Tony Abbott is serious about ending the ‘the age of entitlement’ he should start with the big end of town before hitting every-day people,” said Mr Bandt. 

“Not content with being subsidised by Australia’s taxpayers, Gina Rinehart has now reportedly secured a $764 million loan from US taxpayers. 

“For someone who has urged Tony Abbott to end the culture of entitlement, the hypocrisy is breathtaking. 

“Tony Abbott should focus his efforts on increasing revenue by starting with those who can most readily afford it,” said Mr Bandt.
