Greens MP to Join Community Rally At Cheltenham on the North West Rail Link Shuttle

Greens NSW Transport Spokesperson, Dr Mehreen Faruqi MLC, will visit Cheltenham Station tomorrow morning (25/3/2014 at 8am) to join a community rally to call for the government to scrap plans to construct the North West Rail Link as a metro-only line.

Dr Faruqi has been a frequent commentator on transport issues in the State and has been especially critical of the lack of community consultation, evidence and vision from the O'Farrell Government on public transport. She has been a critic of the decision of the government to construct the North West Rail Link as a standalone metro.

Dr Faruqi MLC is a Civil and Environmental engineer and a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Environmental Studies UNSW.
