Victorian Greens leader Greg Barber has called for the Napthine Government
to replicate their NSW Liberal colleagues' policy of equipping public
buildings with solar panels.
"While the NSW government has vowed to install solar panels wherever
possible on public buildings, the Napthine Government is standing in the
way of renewables," Mr Barber said.
"Premier Napthine has stood back while power company monopolies impose
additional solar charges, cut feed-in tariffs and refuse solar customers
access the grid. These policies have raised household energy costs and
continued Victoria's harmful fossil fuel addiction.
"While NSW is vowing to become Australia's answer to California, Premier
Napthine is dooming Victoria to becoming Australia's Detroit.
"The Greens ask Denis Napthine to follow Mike Baird's lead and install
solar panels on public buildings wherever possible," Mr Barber said.
