Our Community Counts emails

Email 1
Subject 1: This will be a big moment
Subject 2: Our Community Counts rally on Sunday 6 July

Hi [name] --

Earlier this month, over 40,000 working people from unions and community groups took to the streets.

Their message to Tony Abbott and his Liberal mate Denis Napthine was clear: we reject the unfair and unjust budget.

It's hard to point at the worst element of the budget. The $7 GP fee. $80 billion in cuts to health and education. Scrapping indigenous programs. Cutting aid. Abolishing LandCare. Sacking 1000s of public servants. Raising the pension age. Undermining the minimum wage.

The good news is that this is the most unpopular budget in Australia's history, and Tony Abbott and his party are also deeply unpopular. Australians are uniting to reject Abbot's toxic attacks on working people, their families and the community.

40,000 people protesting in June was just the start.

On Sunday 6 July, scores of community groups from across Victoria are uniting with Victorian unions to hold the Our Community Counts rally.

We are taking a stand against Tony Abbott to bust the budget, and let him and his Liberal mates in Spring St know that our communities count.

The community rally on Sunday 6 July starts at 1pm at the Queen Victoria Gardens (opposite the Arts Centre) on St Kilda Road, and will be marching to Parliament House.

You can find out the details of the rally at www.ourcommunitycounts.com<http://www.ourcommunitycounts.com/our_community_counts_march_for_a_fair_australia>.

I hope you will join us.

Hi [name] --

Australians have rejected Tony Abbott's toxic budget, but he's still pushing ahead.

Tony Abbott is hoping to cut a deal with Clive Palmer to get through the worst of his unpopular cuts.

That's why we need to send Tony Abbott a strong message.

At the start of June, over 40,000 working people from unions and community groups rallied to bust the budget.
Since then, we've already put pressure on Abbott's government, and some bad budget measures have been wound back.

We know we can win.

So, we're going to march again. We need to let Abbott and his mates in the Liberal party know that we won't let him wreck Australia.

The rally will be on Sunday 6 July at 1pm at the Queen Victoria Gardens (opposite the Arts Centre).

All the details are here<http://www.ourcommunitycounts.com/our_community_counts_march_for_a_fair_australia>.

By coming to the rally on the 6th, you can ensure your voice gets heard, and stand with tens of thousands of
your neighbours and co-workers who are united against the budget.

Thousands have already RSVPd. Join them here<http://www.ourcommunitycounts.com/our_community_counts_march_for_a_fair_australia>.

Thanks

Luke
