Australian Greens Leader Christine Milne says the Abbott government's science denial has destroyed Australia's international standing on climate policy within a matter of months.



"Australia is a global embarrassment on global warming. It is no wonder the Environment Minister couldn't show his face at Warsaw,"  Senator Milne said.



"At Warsaw we have been labelled rogue. The finger has been pointed  and we are a pariah.



"Meanwhile, Tony Abbott continues to outsource policy to the big polluters by bringing on BHP to help design Direct Action. It would be laughable if it were not so deadly serious.



"Our Pacific Island neighbours certainly aren't laughing, as Tuvalu has made clear. We are turning our backs on them.



"They see straight through the new government's policies and know they  are slogans not climate action.



"Australia is already living the impacts of less than one degree of warming.  Tony Abbott would have us on a path to 4 degrees and accompanying extreme weather events which will cost lives and massive property damage."
