The Victorian Greens Leader Greg Barber and the President of Road Trauma
Families Victoria Margaret Markovic will call on Victorian MPs to reject
laws before the Upper House on Thursday that will shut out families of
fatal road crash victims who suffer damage to their mental health
following the death of their loved ones.
Proposed changes to the transport accident victims scheme have been widely
rejected by peak bodies of emergency service workers - who will also be
shut out - lawyers and mental health professionals.
After the media conference, Greg Barber will move in Parliament to defer
the Bill until public consultation has taken place.
