Hunt should be at climate summit: Bandt
Greens Acting Leader and Federal Member for Melbourne says it is appalling that the Minister for the Environment is joining the Foreign Minister in skipping Monday's global climate summit in Warsaw and is further evidence of the climate denialism that dominates the government.
"Instead of sitting in his office reading Wikipedia, Greg Hunt should be in Warsaw tackling global warming and talking to the world's experts on climate change," Mr Bandt said.
"Action speaks louder than words and once again the climate denialism of the Abbott government is clear from their inaction."
"It is understandable that the Minister feels embarrassed by the Abbott government's position on climate change, but this should be no excuse. He should be in Warsaw to face the music."
"Once again Tony Abbott is failing in his duty to protect the Australian people from global warming. If he doesn't want to send Greg Hunt he should send Malcolm Turnbull, because at least he gets the climate change science."
