No more excuses, WA needs to join the NDIS

The Australian Greens said today that it is time for WA to stop finding excuses not to be part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and sign up to the initiative.

"People with Disabilities in WA want their state to be part of a national scheme, that was very clear from the Senate inquiry into the legislation," Senator Rachel Siewert, Australian Greens disabilities spokesperson said today.

"Some aspects of the WA system are better than other states, however we are a long long way from properly supporting people living with a disability in WA.

"It is time for WA to agree to sign up and work out how to ensure the best delivery of services and support to those living with a disability," Senator Siewert concluded.
