O'Farrell sells the state short on second casino
Premier Barry O'Farrell's guarantee that Crown's licence and gaming tax payments would not be less $1 billion over the next 15 years amounted to a cheap sell out of the state and its reputation, according to Greens NSW MP John Kaye.
Dr Kaye said: "The total revenue guaranteed for the state will be less than $67 million a year. At less than 0.1 percent of the state's budget, the minute contribution Crown will make to the state's bottom line is swamped by the social and economic costs of contaminated money and corruption pressures.
"It is all too easy for James Packer. For just $67 million a year Premier Barry O'Farrell is letting him plunge NSW further into the international casino economy and burden the state with more corruptions pressures, increased flows of laundered money and a tarnished reputation," Dr Kaye.
