Greens MLC Colleen Hartland says the Baillieu government needs to 'answer
the clue phone' after Water Minister gaffe.
"Today I got a letter from the Minister for Water, Peter Walsh, explaining
why Melbourne Water will sell Fraser Street Park in Sunshine for
development and refuting my arguments to stop the sale."
"But the thing is, last week the community won the campaign to save the
park when Melbourne Water halted plans to sell it off for development. The
Minister's letter is dated 30 July, four days after Melbourne Water
contacted local residents, my office and the media."**
"We rang the Minister's office this morning to give them a quiet heads-up
on what Melbourne Water - the Victorian Government authority he heads - is
actually doing. Believe it or not, they didn't believe us. We got a call
back saying the Minster's adviser wanted me to put it in writing."
"Honestly, I have no words to express the extent to which I wish the
Baillieu government would answer the clue phone," said Ms Hartland.
