Greens support RTBU safety concerns

Following the release of evidence about the risk to driver and passengers' safety, the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) has taken more than a third of all Sydney government buses off the road effective immediately. 
 
Greens MP and Industrial Relation spokesperson David Shoebridge said:
 
"The Greens are calling on the government to sit down with the RTBU and talk safety, rather than dismissing their concerns out of hand.
 
"The union has raised matters which are in the interest of the safety of both drivers and passengers.
 
"The issues raised by the union's investigation need to be urgently addressed by the government. 
 
"Everyone wants to get home on time, but they also want to get home safely.
 
"The government shouldn't be playing politics with the RTBU about these serious safety concerns on Sydney buses," Mr Shoebridge said.
