"If the RACV doesn't think there are level crossing Red Spots in the
western metro region*, I should take them on a tour", said Greens MP
Colleen Hartland.

"We'll start at Furlong Road St Albans, where there was a triple fatality
in 2004. The Coroner's report in 2007 recommended action. The government
put out a media release, and that's the last we heard of it."

"Then we'll go to Main Road St Albans. After years and years of promises,
we are still in the planning phase of grade separation."

"At Sunshine we'll see how the rail line is cutting the community in half,
and creating social and economic problems. "

"We'll pop across to the Glenroy Road rail crossing, which is very close
to John Brumby's electorate office. It was on the RACV list two years
ago, and nothing has happened since then."

"I'd take them up to the Melton Highway, which is a Red Spot waiting to
happen. As soon as the Craigieburn electrification happens, those
boom-gates will be down more than up."

"And no western suburbs rail crossing tour is complete without Yarraville,
where the lost pedestrian underpass is a legendary story of secrecy and
stupidity."
