[Greens-Media] Regional Rail Link needs social assessment

Greens MLC Colleen Hartland has expressed concerns about the government 
decision today not to have an Environment Effects Statement for the 
Regional Rail Link.

"The government is again excluding the residents from the project," said 
Greens MLC Colleen Hartland

"An Environmental Effects Assessment would have included proper public 
consultation."

"Mr Madden has replaced the EES with a do-it-yourself Environment 
Management Plan, but this does not include a social assessment."

"I am still getting people coming into my office anxious about the impact 
of the Regional Rail Link on their property.  Considering the history of 
the government keeping the residents in the dark, they are understandably 
a bit edgy about it," said Colleen Hartland
