The Tasmanian Greens today confirmed that they will be attending the
Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (TCCI) first 'Great Debate'
on economic strategy and budget sustainability, and thanked the TCCI for
the opportunity they are providing.
Greens Leader Nick McKim MP said he looked forward to presenting the
Greens' positive vision for Tasmania's future, and debating Tasmania's
economic future in a world facing the challenges of global financial
crisis, peak oil, and climate change.
"The Tasmanian greens are the only opposition party in Australia to
provide an annual Alternative Budget Statement, and we welcome the
chance to showcase our economic vision and credibility during the TCCI's
first Great Debate," said Mr McKim.
"Tasmanians deserve the chance to hear directly from all political
parties leaders about the important issues that affect their lives."
"Thanks are due to the TCCI for facilitating this debate, and for giving
the Greens an opportunity to present our positive vision for Tasmania's
future," said Mr McKim.
