Greens on Treasury modelling: We can afford to go harder, faster, so
there is no excuse not to

Australian Greens Climate Change Spokesperson, Senator Christine Milne,
will comment on the Treasury emissions trading modelling to be released
today.

"Will we be able to look our grandchildren in the eye and tell them we
did all we could when we could? Or will we have to tell them we spent
their inheritance because we didn't have the foresight to do the right
thing?

"Today's Treasury modelling, even with its conservative assumptions,
will confirm what we have known for years - that acting early makes both
economic and environmental sense. That's why the Greens will be moving
in the Senate to push for harder and faster action to cut emissions."
