Greens refer Tony Stewart allegations to ICAC
Greens MP Lee Rhiannon has written to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) with allegations made against Bankstown MP Tony Stewart by two former police officers.
"I have written to the ICAC requesting an investigation of the allegations made to me yesterday by former detectives John Doran and Paul Doran," said Ms Rhiannon.
"Today I asked the Premier's office if the police allegations would be included in the Chris Ronalds SC investigation, if new terms of reference for the Inquiry will now be made, and whether a new investigator will be appointed.
"I have also received fresh allegations against Tony Stewart from a former female public servant who had past dealings with Mr Stewart in his capacity as a member of parliament.
"Her statement sets out a pattern of behaviour similar to the incident at the Garvan Institute fundraiser involving Tina Sanger.
"At this stage I have been given this latest statement in confidence. The woman is prepared to speak to an Inquiry about her experiences if her identity is protected.
"I have asked the Premier's office if I can speak to Chris Ronalds to confirm if this woman can give evidence and have her identity protected.
"My office has been contacted by several people in the past two days about matters related to Tony Stewart's conduct, dating back over ten years. It's hard to believe that senior Labor figures were unaware of this problem," said Ms Rhiannon.
