Greens call for Tabak donations to go to Wollongong charities
NSW Greens MP Lee Rhiannon today called on Premier Morris Iemma and
opposition leader Barry O*Farrell to handover all donations received
from Mr Glen Tabak to local charities in Wollongong.
*I am sure Wollongong charities would be able to put to good use the
$26,000 that Labor and the Liberals took in donations from Mr Tabak*s
company Wideform,* Ms Rhiannon said.
*It would be wrong to hand this money back to Mr Tabak.
*The NSW Election Funding Authority data shows that NSW Labor
accepted four donations from Wideform totally $15,750. The NSW Liberals
accepted five donations totally $10,750.
*Police Minister David Campbell and all Wollongong MPs that have
accepted these donations should publicly disclose their plans to hand
over this money to a good cause.
*The Baptist Community Service Centre for Prostitutes and the Wesley
Church on the Mall should definitely receive a good cut of this
money,* Ms Rhiannon said.
