It is expected the NSW Cabinet will soon sign off on a plan to bring V8
supercar racing to Olympic Park, after receipt of a feasibility study.

This timely public forum, with speakers from the Greens and the Total
Environment Centre, will debate the merits of the proposal and invite
feedback from the community.

NSW Greens MP John Kaye, a speaker at the forum, says:

"Sydneysiders, and in particular nearby residents, should have a say on
whether V8 supercar street racing should go ahead at Olympic Park.

"The Minister for State Development Ian Macdonald must release the
feasibility study for the proposal and invite public submissions before
Cabinet makes its final decision.

"The Greens have been advised there is no formal process for accepting
public submissions on the desirability of this event for Olympic Park.

"The public have the right to debate the merits of the event, based on
all available information, before millions of dollars in public money is
blown away and Olympic Park destroyed," Dr Kaye said.
