The Tasmanian Greens today said that today's EMRS poll results clearly
indicate that the Tasmanian community understands that the Bartlett
government remains the same government that Tasmanians have been
struggling under since the 2006 state election.
Greens Leader Nick McKim MP said that Tasmanians who were promised a
stable Labor majority government were feeling 'ripped off' by the
continual lurching from crisis to crisis which has continued under new
Premier David Bartlett.
"The clear message of this poll is that Tasmanians clearly understand
that the Bartlett government is made up of the same people who stood
shoulder to shoulder with former Premier Paul Lennon through crisis
after crisis."
"This poll was conducted before the shock announcement that the Police
Commissioner is stepping aside pending an investigation, and clearly
indicates that the public is not convinced that a new Premier makes a
new government," Mr McKim said.
Mr McKim said that the Greens vote remained steady within the
statistical margin of error.
