NT Election

Greens are the real opposition, Brown

"Voting Green is double-value voting"

The Northern Territory Greens are the real opposition in this election,
tackling big issues like uranium mining and land-clearing, Australian
Greens Leader Bob Brown said today.

"The Greens are the clear option for voters who are concerned about
protecting the Territory's magnificent natural environment, which is
threatened by the dangerous expansion of uranium mining near Alice
Springs, as well as the continued destruction of natural forests by
land-clearing," Senator Brown said.

"Territorians can double the value of their vote by voting 1 for the
Greens, and then placing the rest of the parties and independents in
order of preference. That gives voters the best chance of electing a
strong Greens representative to the Assembly, but also means the vote is
transferred at full value to the next candidate of choice if the Greens
candidate is unsuccessful. That's double value voting," Senator Brown
said.
