The Tasmanian Greens today delivered to Police on their request all the
reassembled shredded documents and remaining shreddings received by them
from a whistle blower, which originated from the office of former Deputy
Premier Steve Kons and are integral to the Shreddergate affair that saw
Mr Kons resign his portfolios for lying to Parliament.
Greens Member for Bass Kim Booth MP who received the shredded documents
is co-operating with Police and will also be making a statement when he
attends the Police headquarters in Hobart.
"I have been asked by the Police, with whom I have been co-operating
over their investigation, to now give them all the material I received
in the bag of shreddings, and I am doing so by arrangement with the
investigators," Mr Booth said.
"I am handing over several reassembled documents and some shreddings,
but will not be disclosing further information about the contents, as
this knowledge may possibly be useful to Police."
"I have also arranged to make a statement to Police investigators at the
same time."
"I cannot tell you the exact nature of the Police investigation as this
is a matter for them, I am simply co-operating with the requests they
have made of me," Mr Booth concluded.
