Greens welcome Beijing's announcement to talk with Dalai Lama
Saturday 26th April 2008
Australian Greens leader Senator Bob Brown today welcomed the
announcement from Beijing that China will begin talks with
representatives of the Dalai Lama.
Senator Brown is currently on his way to Caracas and Sao Paulo, to
represent Australia at the Global Greens conference.
"This is a great step forward for the people of Tibet and a real victory
for the peaceful pro-Tibet protestors around the world," said Senator
Brown
The Greens suggest that Prime Minister Kevin Rudd might use his good
offices to assist the talks between the Dalai Lama and Beijing.
