Linda Hornsey's role needs wider scrutiny - Brown

The role of Linda Hornsey in politically targeting citizens needs
opening up, Greens Leader Bob Brown said today.

After the disclosure of her key role in overriding a magistrate
appointment, Senator Brown said light need to be shed on her veto power
over Tasmanian nominations for the Order of Australia (Ms Hornsey is the
Tasmanian representative on the Council of the Order of Australia in
Canberra), the government's list of prominent Tasmanian women and, now,
the Rudd government's selection of 1000 citizens for its 2020 conference
in two weeks' time (only 17 Tasmanians were accepted). In each case,
questions have arisen, Senator Brown said.
