ACT voters could make the difference

Kerrie Tucker, Greens Senate candidate for the ACT, described recent polling
on ACT voting for the Senate as heartening.

"This Morgan polling shows ACT preferences for the Liberal Party at 20% and
undecided at 11%."

"That confirms the feeling I get in the street, that ACT voters are thinking
about how they will vote in the Senate election" Ms Tucker said today.

"Canberra people, more than others, know how integrity in government is
sacrificed when the Senate is controlled by one party."

People are also increasingly aware that Senator Humphries' ACT seat is a key
to the Coalition control of the Senate."

"And that by electing me in his place not only will voters ensure the
Coalition lose its complete control, the change would happen immediately the
election is declared."

"(Senators from the states, of course, don't take up their position until
the next July)."

"This ACT senate election is about trust. It is about who to trust to keep
an eye on Government."

"The next Government needs to face up to the challenge of climate change and
do a better job of caring for people who don't get a fair go."

"We can hold Government to account with a strong Greens team in an
independent Senate. It looks like Canberra voters can really make a
difference" Ms Tucker said.
