IUCN Red List of Threatened Species to be released overnight

WHO: IUCN Vice-President and Australian Greens Senator, Christine Milne

WHEN: Wednesday-Thursday, 12-13 September 2007

Greens Senator Christine Milne, who is also Vice-President of the IUCN -
the World Conservation Union - will be available for comment on the 2007
IUCN Red List of Threatened Species which will be released in Paris and
Washington overnight.

"The Red List is the world's most valued and comprehensive assessment of
species at risk of extinction around the world.

"The impact of climate change has changed the face of the Red List in
recent years, as it is changing the face of the planet."
