Andrews should resign as Haneef bungle damages Australia

Australia's international reputation is being put through the grinder by
the false imprisonment of Dr Mohamed Haneef, Greens Leader Bob Brown
said today.

"Minister Andrews became a self-appointed judge and jailer.  The outcome
has been a globally-reported miscarriage of justice.  The minister put
pre-election political advantage ahead of justice, and both Dr Haneef
and Australia have become victims.  The Minister should resign," Senator
Brown said.
