Greens MLCs wish John Thwaites the best for the future

Greens MLC Sue Pennicuik said that the Greens wish John Thwaites the very
best for his future outside parliament.

"I live in John’s electorate and I know he has been a conscientious local
member for Albert Park. John was a successful Health Minister and I believe
he has had a very genuine commitment to his environment, water and climate
change portfolio, even though we feel much more needs to be done in these
critical areas at a state level," said Ms Pennicuik.

"Mr Thwaites indicated that his son Jack has only ever known his father as
Deputy Premier, which we know is a demanding role. Once again, it's a
reminder of the toll that the life of an MP can take on personal
relationships, particularly when parliamentarians have young children."

"We wish John, Melanie and Jack all the best for the future," said Ms
Pennicuik.
