Swindle is as swindle does

ACT Greens MLA Deb Foskey has pointed to the persuasive array of
considered scientific analysis to discredit the provocative Climate
Change Swindle program on ABC TV tonight.

 "It is human nature to believe supposed expert advice when it fits with
your preference. And I've got no doubt that lots of people would like
the challenge of Climate Change to disappear" Dr Foskey said today.

"My concern is that this program, by giving voice to those who profit
from debunking climate change science, will strengthen the Prime
Minister and the ACT Chief Minister's arguments for delaying meaningful
action - when our future depends on immediate efforts to reduce our
greenhouse gas emissions."

 "There is however more than enough strongly researched scientific
evidence to discredit tonight's documentary. The problem of course is
that not everyone has the time or the interest to look below the
surface."

"The ACT Greens have put a succinct rebuttal by Professor Andrew Glikson
on our website. That could be a first port of call for anyone getting
prepared to talk to their friends [www.act.greens.org.au]."

"I'm also confident that the ABC's follow up interview and the panel
discussion after the screening tonight will go some way to reasserting
some balance."
 
 "Of course the Climate Change Swindle has already made its mark simply
by having the name in front of everyone. The question a lot of us are
asking is where does the swindle really lie, could it be in how science
is presented by this program?" Dr Foskey asked.
